Which is best for mild depression and sadness due to generalized anxiety? 5HTP, L Tryptophan, SAMe, LTheanine.
It also has to help reduce anxiety (along with my cognitive-behavioral techniques that help very well!) and insomnia due to mild depression/anxiety. I can fall asleep for a couple hours but then I’m up again feeling sad and anxious. If I do CB techniques I’m happy soon after but still find it hard to sleep again because my cycle is disrupted and the anxious thoughts come back. I’m also taking vitamin B, C,calcium/magnesium and fish oil capsules. I tried green tea today too for the relaxation effect and it worked! I was able to nap for about 40 minutes after not sleeping all night.
I’m having trouble finding a naturopathic doctor in my area. I won’t go on any of these without a doctor, but I’m wondering which works best to elevate mood, lower anxiety and help you sleep. Thanks!
Those herbs you mentioned are all good for anxiety/depression. Most of those herbs (and a few others) can be found in a product called Panicyl – which is what I use with great success.
I also use the CB techniques with successfully too. You’re doing all the RIGHT things! Hope this helps.
